Amends the State Finance Act. Provides that the State shall not expend or invest any public funds in any organization, nonprofit organization, religious organization, or any other entity that performs conversion therapy. Provides that any public funds owed by the State to an organization performing conversion therapy shall be withheld from such organization, and any contract between the State and that organization shall be void.

1 | | AN ACT concerning finance.
|
2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
4 | | Section 5. The State Finance Act is amended by adding |
5 | | Section 50 as follows: |
6 | | (30 ILCS 105/50 new) |
7 | | Sec. 50. Conversion therapy funds prohibited. |
8 | | Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, the |
9 | | State shall not expend or invest any public funds in any |
10 | | organization, nonprofit organization, religious organization, |
11 | | or any other entity that performs conversion therapy. Any |
12 | | public funds owed by the State to an organization performing |
13 | | conversion therapy as of the effective date of this amendatory |
14 | | Act of the 102nd General Assembly shall be withheld from such |
15 | | organization, and any contract between the State and that |
16 | | organization shall be void.
