Amends the Health Care Worker Background Check Act. Provides that the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation shall provide access to the Health Care Worker Registry to health care employers, staffing agencies, digital staffing platforms, workforce intermediaries, organizations that provide pro bono legal services, and educational entities. Provides that nothing shall prevent the Department from providing access to other types of entities to the extent that the Department deems appropriate.

2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
4 | | Section 5. The Health Care Worker Background Check Act is |
5 | | amended by adding Section 26.1 as follows: |
6 | | (225 ILCS 46/26.1 new) |
7 | | Sec. 26.1. Access to Health Care Worker Registry. |
8 | | (a) The Department shall provide access to the Health Care |
9 | | Worker Registry, which includes the information as stated in |
10 | | Section 26, to: |
11 | | (1) health care employers; |
12 | | (2) staffing agencies; |
13 | | (3) digital staffing platforms; |
14 | | (4) workforce intermediaries; |
15 | | (5) organizations that provide pro bono legal |
16 | | services; and |
17 | | (6) educational entities. |
18 | | (b) Nothing in this Section shall prevent the Department |
19 | | from providing access to other types of entities to the extent |
20 | | the Department deems appropriate. |
21 | | (c) As used in this Section: |
22 | | "Digital staffing platform" means an organization, |
23 | | including, but not limited to, a corporation, limited |
