Amends the Departments of State Government Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Provides that an office of Inspector General established within a department of State government, or otherwise established in any agency under the jurisdiction of the Governor, that is in existence on the effective date of this amendatory Act, or which may be established thereafter, shall be a fully independent office with its own appropriation separate from the overall appropriation for the department in which such office is established.

1 | | AN ACT concerning State government.
|
2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
4 | | Section 5. The Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is |
5 | | amended by adding Section 5-665 as follows: |
6 | | (20 ILCS 5/5-665 new) |
7 | | Sec. 5-665. Inspector General appropriation. |
8 | | Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, an |
9 | | office of Inspector General established within a department of |
10 | | State government, as designated in Section 5-15, or otherwise |
11 | | established in any agency under the jurisdiction of the |
12 | | Governor, that is in existence on the effective date of this |
13 | | amendatory Act of the 102nd General Assembly, or which may be |
14 | | established thereafter, shall be a fully independent office |
15 | | with its own appropriation separate from the overall |
16 | | appropriation for the department in which such office is |
17 | | established.
