2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
4 | | Section 5. The Counties Code is amended by changing |
5 | | Section 3-6012 as follows:
|
6 | | (55 ILCS 5/3-6012) (from Ch. 34, par. 3-6012)

7 | | Sec. 3-6012. Auxiliary deputies. The The sheriff of any |
8 | | county in Illinois
may, with the advice and consent of the |
9 | | county board appoint auxiliary
deputies in such number as the |
10 | | county board shall from time to time deem
necessary. However, |
11 | | such number of appointed auxiliary deputies shall not
increase |
12 | | after January 1, 1982 if vacancies exist within the certified
|
13 | | ranks of the department. Such auxiliary deputies shall not be |
14 | | regular
appointed deputies pursuant to Section 3-6008, nor |
15 | | shall they be
members of a county police department |
16 | | established pursuant to Divisions 3-7
and 3-8.
