1 | | (a) In this Section, "music venue" means an indoor or |
2 | | outdoor location with a capacity of more than 800 persons used |
3 | | as a space to hold a live concert or musical performance. |
4 | | (b) If a licensee operates as a music venue, the licensee |
5 | | shall ensure that, during its hours of operation as a music |
6 | | venue, it has opioid antagonists available at the premises and |
7 | | that there is a staff member on the premises who has been |
8 | | sufficiently trained on how to properly administer an opioid |
9 | | antagonist. A person who has been certified in the |
10 | | administration of opioid antagonists by a governmental or |
11 | | private entity, regardless of when the person received that |
12 | | certification, is deemed to be sufficiently trained under this |
13 | | Section. |
14 | | (c) Any person who, in good faith, administers or provides |
15 | | an opioid antagonist in accordance with this Section, shall |
16 | | not, as a result of his or her acts or omissions, except |
17 | | willful or wanton misconduct on the part of the person, in |
18 | | administering or providing the opioid antagonist, be liable |
19 | | for civil damages.

20 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect June 1, |
21 | | 2023.".
