SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
20 ILCS 3855/1-129 new

    Amends the Illinois Power Agency Act. Provides that the Illinois Commerce Commission, in consultation with the Illinois Power Agency, shall develop standards and guidelines to prohibit any Illinois ratepayer funds from being used by the Agency for the procurement of solar panels that are not manufactured or assembled by a company located in the United States under the Agency's long-term renewable resources procurement plan.

1    AN ACT concerning State government.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Illinois Power Agency Act is amended by
5adding Section 1-129 as follows:
 
6    (20 ILCS 3855/1-129 new)
7    Sec. 1-129. Prohibition on procurement of solar panels not
8manufactured in the United States. No later than 180 days
9after the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 102nd
10General Assembly, the Illinois Commerce Commission, in
11consultation with the Agency, shall develop standards and
12guidelines to prohibit any Illinois ratepayer funds, as
13collected under Section 16-108 of the Public Utilities Act,
14from being used by the Agency for the procurement of solar
15panels that are not manufactured or assembled by a company
16located in the United States under the Agency's long-term
17renewable resources procurement plan.
