Amends the School Code. Requires the State Board of Education to undertake a study to determine whether silent panic alarms should be installed in all public elementary and secondary schools in this State. Effective immediately.

2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | | Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Section |
5 | | 2-3.182 as follows: |
6 | | (105 ILCS 5/2-3.182 new) |
7 | | Sec. 2-3.182. Silent alarm study. The State Board of |
8 | | Education shall undertake a study to determine whether silent |
9 | | panic alarms should be installed in all public elementary and |
10 | | secondary schools in this State.

11 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
12 | | becoming law.
