| 5 | | Act of 2004 is amended by changing Section 17 as follows:

| 8 | | Sec. 17. Dispensing drugs and medicine. |
| 9 | | (a) Any person licensed under this Act who dispenses any |
| 10 | | drug
or medicine shall dispense such drug or medicine in good |
| 11 | | faith and shall
affix to the container containing the same a |
| 12 | | label indicating: (1) (a) the date
on which such drug or |
| 13 | | medicine is dispensed, (2) (b) the name of the owner, (3)
(c) |
| 14 | | the last name of the person dispensing such drug or medicine, |
| 15 | | (4) (d)
directions for use thereof, including dosage and |
| 16 | | quantity, and (5) (e) the
proprietary or generic name of the |

| 1 | | drug or medicine, except as otherwise
authorized by rules of |
| 2 | | the Department. This subsection Section shall not apply to
|
| 3 | | drugs and medicines that are in a container which bears a label |
| 4 | | of the
manufacturer with information describing its contents |
| 5 | | that are in
compliance with requirements of the Federal Food, |
| 6 | | Drug, and Cosmetic Act or
the Illinois Food, Drug and Cosmetic |
| 7 | | Act, approved June 29, 1967, as
amended, and that which are |
| 8 | | dispensed without consideration by a practitioner
licensed |
| 9 | | under this Act. |
| 10 | | (b) Each time a person licensed under this Act initially |
| 11 | | dispenses a drug or medicine, he or she shall offer to provide |
| 12 | | the manufacturer's information sheets on the drug or medicine, |
| 13 | | if available. |
| 14 | | (c) In this Section: |
| 15 | | "Drug" and "medicine" have the meanings ascribed
to them |
| 16 | | in the Pharmacy Practice Act. , as amended, and |
| 17 | | "Good "good faith"
has the meaning ascribed to it in |
| 18 | | subsection (v) of Section 102 of the
"Illinois Controlled |
| 19 | | Substances Act", approved August 16, 1971, as amended.
