1 | | AN ACT concerning animals.
|
2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
4 | | Section 5. The Humane Care for Animals Act is amended by |
5 | | adding Section 7.3 as follows: |
6 | | (510 ILCS 70/7.3 new) |
7 | | Sec. 7.3. Leading animal from motor vehicle. |
8 | | (a) No person shall lead or tether a companion animal from |
9 | | a moving motor vehicle or any device attached thereto. |
10 | | (b) For purposes of this Section: |
11 | | "Lead" means to confine by a leash or other device that is |
12 | | controlled by a person, and that fits on the animal's body and |
13 | | limits the animal's movements. |
14 | | "Tether" means to confine by a leash or other device that |
15 | | is attached to a fixed object, and that fits on the animal's |
16 | | body and limits the animal's movements. |
17 | | Section 10. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by adding |
18 | | Section 11-1433 as follows: |
