Amends the Illinois Governmental Ethics Act. Provides that a person, regardless of citizenship or immigration status, is eligible to be appointed to any board, commission, authority, or task force authorized or created by State law or by executive order of the Governor if the person is 18 years of age and a resident of the State.

2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Governmental Ethics Act is amended |
5 | | by adding Section 3A-50 as follows: |
6 | | (5 ILCS 420/3A-50 new) |
7 | | Sec. 3A-50. Immigrant appointees. Notwithstanding any |
8 | | provision of law to the contrary, a person, regardless of |
9 | | citizenship or immigration status, is eligible to be appointed |
10 | | to any board, commission, authority, or task force authorized |
11 | | or created by State law or by executive order of the Governor |
12 | | if the person is 18 years of age and a resident of the State.
