Amends the General Provisions Article of the Illinois Pension Code. Provides that beginning on the effective date of the amendatory Act, the minimum age at which a person is eligible to receive a retirement annuity or pension under any Article of the Code shall be increased by one year and, beginning 5 years after the effective date of the amendatory Act, the minimum age at which a person is eligible to receive a retirement annuity or pension under any Article of the Code shall be increased by one additional year. Effective immediately.

2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Pension Code is amended by adding |
5 | | Section 1-155 as follows: |
6 | | (40 ILCS 5/1-155 new) |
7 | | Sec. 1-155. Retirement age; increase. Notwithstanding any |
8 | | other provision of law, beginning on the effective date of |
9 | | this amendatory Act of the 102nd General Assembly, the minimum |
10 | | age at which a person is eligible to receive a retirement |
11 | | annuity or pension under any Article of this Code shall be |
12 | | increased by one year and, beginning 5 years after the |
13 | | effective date of this amendatory Act of the 102nd General |
14 | | Assembly, shall be increased by one additional year.

15 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
16 | | becoming law.
