Amends the State Officials and Employees Ethics Act. Provides that in addition to any other applicable requirement of law, State's Attorneys, and the Assistant State's Attorneys working thereunder, shall abide by the ethics laws applicable to, and the ethics policies of, the county for which they work and, if applicable, shall be subject to the jurisdiction of that county's ethics officer or inspector general.

1 | | AN ACT concerning government.

2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | | Section 5. The State Officials and Employees Ethics Act is |
5 | | amended by adding Section 70-25 as follows: |
6 | | (5 ILCS 430/70-25 new) |
7 | | Sec. 70-25. State's Attorneys. In addition to any other |
8 | | applicable requirement of law, the State's Attorneys of each |
9 | | county of this State, and the Assistant State's Attorneys |
10 | | working thereunder, shall abide by the ethics laws applicable |
11 | | to, and the ethics policies of, the county for which they work |
12 | | and, if applicable, shall be subject to the jurisdiction of |
13 | | that county's ethics officer or inspector general.
