2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Municipal Code is amended by |
5 | | changing Section 8-3-5 as follows:
|
6 | | (65 ILCS 5/8-3-5) (from Ch. 24, par. 8-3-5)

7 | | Sec. 8-3-5.
All taxes levied by a municipality, except |
8 | | special assessments
for local improvements, shall be uniform |
9 | | upon all taxable property and
and
persons within the limits of |
10 | | the municipality, and no property shall be
exempt therefrom |
11 | | other than such property as may be exempt from taxation
under |
12 | | the constitution and general laws of the State. |
