2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | | Section 5. The Substance Use Disorder Act is amended by |
5 | | changing Section 5-24 as follows: |

7 | | Sec. 5-24. Opiate prescriptions; educational materials. |

The Department shall develop educational materials to |
9 | | educate holders of opiate prescriptions about the dangers of |
10 | | children and teens gaining access to these medications. The |
11 | | materials shall include information regarding the means by |
12 | | which the abuse of opiate prescriptions can lead to the |
13 | | illegal use of heroin. The Department shall also develop a |
14 | | method of distribution for such educational materials. |
