1    AN ACT concerning education.

 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
 
3represented in the General Assembly:





 
4    Section 5. The University of Illinois Act is amended  by 
5adding Section 120 as follows:
 
6    (110 ILCS 305/120  new)
7    Sec. 120. Availability of menstrual hygiene products.
8    (a) In this Section, "menstrual hygiene products" means 
9tampons and sanitary napkins for use in connection with the 
10menstrual cycle. 
11    (b) The Board of Trustees shall make menstrual hygiene 
12products available, at no cost to students, in the bathrooms 
13of facilities or portions of facilities that (i) are owned or 
14leased by the Board or over which the Board has care, custody, 
15and control and (ii) are used for student instruction or 
16administrative purposes. 
 
17    Section 10. The Southern Illinois University Management 
18Act is amended  by adding Section 100 as follows:
 
19    (110 ILCS 520/100  new)
20    Sec. 100. Availability of menstrual hygiene products.
21    (a) In this Section, "menstrual hygiene products" means

1tampons and sanitary napkins for use in connection with the 
2menstrual cycle. 
3    (b) The Board shall make menstrual hygiene products 
4available, at no cost to students, in the bathrooms of 
5facilities or portions of facilities that (i) are owned or 
6leased by the Board or over which the Board has care, custody, 
7and control and (ii) are used for student instruction or 
8administrative purposes. 
 
9    Section 15. The Chicago State University Law is amended  by 
10adding Section 5-210 as follows:
 
11    (110 ILCS 660/5-210  new)
12    Sec. 5-210. Availability of menstrual hygiene products.
13    (a) In this Section, "menstrual hygiene products" means 
14tampons and sanitary napkins for use in connection with the 
15menstrual cycle.
16    (b) The Board shall make menstrual hygiene products 
17available, at no cost to students, in the bathrooms of 
18facilities or portions of facilities that (i) are owned or 
19leased by the Board or over which the Board has care, custody, 
20and control and (ii) are used for student instruction or 
21administrative purposes. 
 
22    Section 20. The Eastern Illinois University Law is amended  
23by adding Section 10-210 as follows:

13by adding Section 15-210 as follows:

16    (a) In this Section, "menstrual hygiene products" means 
17tampons and sanitary napkins for use in connection with the 
18menstrual cycle.
19    (b) The Board shall make menstrual hygiene products 
20available, at no cost to students, in the bathrooms of 
21facilities or portions of facilities that (i) are owned or 
22leased by the Board or over which the Board has care, custody, 
23and control and (ii) are used for student instruction or

2    Section 30. The Illinois State University Law is amended  
3by adding Section 20-215 as follows:
 
4    (110 ILCS 675/20-215  new)
5    Sec. 20-215. Availability of menstrual hygiene products.
6    (a) In this Section, "menstrual hygiene products" means 
7tampons and sanitary napkins for use in connection with the 
8menstrual cycle.
9    (b) The Board shall make menstrual hygiene products 
10available, at no cost to students, in the bathrooms of 
11facilities or portions of facilities that (i) are owned or 
12leased by the Board or over which the Board has care, custody, 
13and control and (ii) are used for student instruction or 
14administrative purposes. 
 
15    Section 35. The Northeastern Illinois University Law is 
16amended  by adding Section 25-210 as follows:
 
17    (110 ILCS 680/25-210  new)
18    Sec. 25-210. Availability of menstrual hygiene products.
19    (a) In this Section, "menstrual hygiene products" means 
20tampons and sanitary napkins for use in connection with the 
21menstrual cycle.
22    (b) The Board shall make menstrual hygiene products

11tampons and sanitary napkins for use in connection with the 
12menstrual cycle.
13    (b) The Board shall make menstrual hygiene products 
14available, at no cost to students, in the bathrooms of 
15facilities or portions of facilities that (i) are owned or 
16leased by the Board or over which the Board has care, custody, 
17and control and (ii) are used for student instruction or 
18administrative purposes. 
 
19    Section 45. The Western Illinois University Law is amended  
20by adding Section 35-215 as follows:
 
21    (110 ILCS 690/35-215  new)
22    Sec. 35-215. Availability of menstrual hygiene products.

13    Sec. 3-29.14. Availability of menstrual hygiene products.
14    (a) In this Section, "menstrual hygiene products" means 
15tampons and sanitary napkins for use in connection with the 
16menstrual cycle.
17    (b) Each board shall make menstrual hygiene products 
18available, at no cost to students, in the bathrooms of 
19facilities or portions of facilities that (i) are owned or 
20leased by the board or over which the board has care, custody, 
21and control and (ii) are used for student instruction or 
22administrative purposes. 

 
23    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 
24becoming law.
