Creates the Feminine Hygiene Products for the Homeless Act. Provides that feminine hygiene products, including, but not limited to, sanitary napkins, tampons, and panty liners, shall be available free of charge at all homeless shelters that provide temporary housing assistance to women or youth. Provides that a homeless shelter's
obligation to satisfy this requirement is
subject to the availability of funds in the homeless shelter's
general budget.

1 | | AN ACT concerning homeless shelters.

2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | | Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the |
5 | | Feminine Hygiene Products for the Homeless Act. |
6 | | Section 5. Access to feminine hygiene products. Feminine |
7 | | hygiene products, including, but not limited to, sanitary |
8 | | napkins, tampons, and panty liners, shall be available free of |
9 | | charge at all homeless shelters that provide temporary housing |
10 | | assistance to women or youth. A homeless shelter's
obligation |
11 | | to satisfy the requirement of this Section is

13 | | budget. As used in this Act, "homeless shelter" means a |
14 | | supervised publicly or privately operated shelter designed to |
15 | | provide temporary living accommodations to individuals who |
