Amends the Children and Family Services Act. Provides that subject to appropriation, the Department of Children and Family Services shall provide a canvas travel or tote bag to all foster youth for the purpose of storing personal belongings. Requires the Department to provide replacement travel or tote bags to all foster youth on an as-needed basis. Effective immediately.

1 | | AN ACT concerning State government.

2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | | Section 5. The Children and Family Services Act is amended |
5 | | by adding Section 8.2 as follows: |
6 | | (20 ILCS 505/8.2 new) |
7 | | Sec. 8.2. Travel bags for foster youth. Subject to |
8 | | appropriation, the Department shall provide a canvas travel or |
9 | | tote bag to all foster youth for the purpose of storing |
10 | | personal belongings. The Department shall provide replacement |
11 | | travel or tote bags to all foster youth on an as-needed basis.

12 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
13 | | becoming law.
