4 | | care, custody, and control and (ii) in which there is a public |

6 | | (c) A school district shall make menstrual feminine |
7 | | hygiene products available, at no cost to students, in |
8 | | bathrooms of every school building that are open for student |
9 | | use in grades 4 through 12 during the regular school day the |
10 | | bathrooms of school buildings .

13 | | Sec. 34-18.56. Availability of menstrual feminine hygiene |

15 | | (a) The General Assembly finds the following: |
16 | | (1) Menstrual Feminine hygiene products are a health |
17 | | care necessity and not an item that can be foregone or |
18 | | substituted easily. |
19 | | (2) Access to menstrual feminine hygiene products is a |
20 | | serious and ongoing need in this State. |
21 | | (3) When students do not have access to affordable |
22 | | menstrual feminine hygiene products, they may miss |
23 | | multiple days of school every month. |
24 | | (4) When students have access to quality menstrual |
25 | | feminine hygiene products, they are able to continue with |

1 | | their daily lives with minimal interruption. |
2 | | (b) In this Section: |
3 | | "Menstrual hygiene products" "Feminine hygiene products" |
4 | | means tampons and sanitary napkins for use in connection with |
5 | | the menstrual cycle. |
6 | | "School building" means any facility (i) that is owned or |
7 | | leased by the school district or over which the board has care, |
8 | | custody, and control and (ii) in which there is a public school |
9 | | serving students in grades 6 through 12. |
10 | | (c) The school district shall make menstrual feminine |
11 | | hygiene products available, at no cost to students, in |
12 | | bathrooms of every school building that are open for student |
13 | | use in grades 4 through 12 during the regular school day the |
14 | | bathrooms of school buildings .
