AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 132




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 132 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:

 
 
4    "Section 5. The Business Enterprise for Minorities, Women, 
5and Persons with
Disabilities Act is amended  by adding Section 
68l as follows:
 
7    (30 ILCS 575/8l new)
8    Sec. 8l. Certification recognition. Notwithstanding any 
9rule or provision of law to the contrary, the Business 
10Enterprise Program shall recognize and accept the 
11certifications of businesses that have been certified as 
12minority-owned businesses or women-owned businesses by the 
13City of Chicago, Cook County, or other entities approved by 
14the Business Enterprise Council for purposes of participating 
15in the Business Enterprise Program, provided that the City of 
16Chicago, Cook County, or other entities approved by the

1Business Enterprise Council have certification requirements 
2more restrictive than that required by the Business Enterprise 
3Program under this Act, including, but not limited to, an 
4income level requirement.


 
5    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 
6becoming law.".
