Amends the School Code. To ensure that the content available on any third party online curriculum that is made available to enrolled students or the public by a school district through the Internet is readily accessible to persons with disabilities, provides that the State Board of Education shall require that the third party online curriculum comply with Level AA of the World Wide Web Consortium's Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.

2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | | Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Section |
5 | | 2-3.182 as follows: |
6 | | (105 ILCS 5/2-3.182 new) |
7 | | Sec. 2-3.182. Website accessibility guidelines. |
8 | | (a) As used in this Section, "Internet website or web |
9 | | service" means any third party online curriculum that is made |
10 | | available to enrolled students or the public by a school |
11 | | district through the Internet. |
12 | | (b) To ensure that the content available on an Internet |
13 | | website or web service of a school district is readily |
14 | | accessible to persons with disabilities, the State Board of |
15 | | Education shall require that the Internet website or web |
16 | | service comply with Level AA of the World Wide Web |
17 | | Consortium's Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 or any |
18 | | revised version of those guidelines.
