SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Michael "Mike" L. Ryan of Silvis, who
4passed away on November 15, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Mike Ryan was born to John and Elsie (Tegethoff)
6Ryan in Sigourney, Iowa on September 10, 1945; he served in the
7U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Conflict, where he received
8several service medals; he married Mary Jo Wissbaum in
9Elizabeth City, North Carolina on October 23, 1965; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Mike Ryan worked at Farmall in Rock Island, the
11Rock Island Lines, and then for Sivyer Steel in Bettendorf
12before retiring in 1987; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Mike Ryan loved all animals and was a founding
14members of the Quad City Dog Obedience Club; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Mike Ryan enjoyed spending his time woodworking;
16he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Mike Ryan was preceded in death by his parents;
18and
 
19    WHEREAS, Mike Ryan is survived by his wife; his daughter,

1Wendy (Andy) Rogers; his grandson, Brady Rogers; his siblings,
2Kathryn Ryan and William Ryan; and his nieces and nephews;
3therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6Michael "Mike" L. Ryan and extend our sincere condolences to
7his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Mike Ryan as an expression of our
11deepest sympathy.
