SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of John F. Collins, who passed away on
4December 2, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, John Collins was born in Dayton, Ohio to John H.
6and Clara Langhorst Collins on January 9, 1924; he earned his
7bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the University of Illinois;
8he earned his master's degree in Engineering Management from
9the Illinois Institute of Technology; he served in the U.S.
10Army during World War II from 1943 to 1945 and was held as a
11P.O.W. in Germany; he married Marilynn Carey in Illinois in
12November 1950, and she preceded him in death on January 25,
132016; and
 
14    WHEREAS, John Collins was president of J. F. Collins
15Associates, a human resource consulting firm; and
 
16    WHEREAS, John Collins was a member of the Flossmoor
17Community Church; he was a proud Illini alumni; he enjoyed the
18outdoors, taking daily walks, playing tennis, watching sports,
19and spending time with family and friends; and
 
20    WHEREAS, John Collins was preceded in death by his wife;

1    WHEREAS, John Collins is survived by his daughters, Allison
2(Jim) McCarthy and Cynthia (Brad) Baldwin, and his
3grandchildren, Mark (Olivia) Baldwin, Madeline McCarthy, and
4Meredith McCarthy; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7John F. Collins and extend our sincere condolences to his
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of John Collins as an expression of our
12deepest sympathy.
