SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Robert Lewis "Bob" Bonnett of Milan, who
4passed away on October 18, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bob Bonnett was born in Buffalo, Iowa to Lewis and
6Violette Shoemaker Bonnett on August 21, 1926; he served in the
7U.S. Army; he married Elaine Marie Fitzpatrick on January 26,
81946, and she preceded him in death on March 17, 1991; he
9married Shirley Daniels-Faramelli on June 6, 1992; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Bob Bonnett and Elaine founded Bonnett Wholesale
11Florist in Milan in 1954; it became a successful business in
12which he was actively involved until his last years; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Bob Bonnett was a member of First Presbyterian
14Church in Milan; he was a member of the Chevrolet Nomad
15Association and the GMC Motorhome Club; he enjoyed gardening,
16traveling, and attending the national Nomad Conventions; he
17also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends,
18especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; he was a
19collector of Nomads and enjoyed long car rides; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Bob Bonnett was preceded in death by his parents;
21his first wife, Elaine; his daughter, Robin Ciccotelli; his

1sister, June; his brother, Richard "Dick"; and his
2great-granddaughter, Chelsey Weldon; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Bob Bonnett is survived by his wife, Shirley; his
4children, Gregory (Debbie) Bonnett, Glynn (Diane Steele-Kies)
5Bonnett, Taylor Ridge, and Kent (Pattie) Bonnett; his stepson,
6John Faramelli; his grandchildren, Allison, Kimberly, Velvet,
7Beth, Melissa, Jaime, Anthony, and John; his step-grandson,
8Ashton; 16 great-grandchildren; several
9great-great-grandchildren; and his son-in-law, Gino
10Ciccotelli; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13Robert Lewis "Bob" Bonnett and extend our sincere condolences
14to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
15it further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Bob Bonnett as an expression of our
18deepest sympathy.
