SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Michael "Mike" Baumbach of Moline, who
4passed away on November 17, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Mike Baumbach was born in Rock Island to Dale and
6Dorothy (Allen) Baumbach on September 9, 1949; he graduated
7from Moline High School; he served in the U.S. Army for 12
8years with many units; he was most proud of being a tank
9commander and serving with the 11th Armored Calvary; he married
10Cynthia Licht in Hampton on July 15, 2000; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Mike Baumbach worked at the Rock Island Arsenal
12for 30 years, where he last served as a test tech at the range,
13before retiring in 2011; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Mike Baumbach was known by his nickname "Bomber"
15and for loving life; he was a life member of the VFW; he loved
16riding his Harley next to his wife and his many friends; he
17also loved spending time with his family, friends, and his
18"brothers and sisters by different mothers", especially his
19best friend, Frank, and his brother, Kenny; he will be
20remembered for his big heart and for being a friend to all; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Mike Baumbach was preceded in death by his

1daughter, Katina Baumbach; his granddaughter, Heaven Leigh
2Fulton; his parents; his brother, Steve Baumbach; and his
3"Golden" 4-footed best buddy, Bailey; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Mike Baumbach is survived by his wife, Cyndi; his
5daughter, Wendy West; his grandchildren, Sean (Zoe) Fulton and
6Elizabeth West; his brothers, Barry (Sharon) Baumbach and Kenny
7Baumbach; his sister-in-law, Margie Baumbach; his many nieces,
8nephews, and cousins; and his fur buddy, Tucker; therefore, be
9it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Michael "Mike" Baumbach and extend our sincere condolences to
13his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
14further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Mike Baumbach as an expression of
17our deepest sympathy.
