SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Mario Almanza of Moline, who passed away
4on October 23, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Mario Almanza was born in Moline to John and
6Virginia (Navarro) Almanza on October 12, 1957; he served in
7the U.S. Army from 1978 to 1981; he married Tracy Petrie in Las
8Vegas, Nevada on November 4, 1989; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Mario Almanza worked as a laboratory technician
10for the city of Moline for 36 years; he took great pride in his
11work; he also served as the Moline Water Department's mascot
12Splash; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Mario Almanza enjoyed ice fishing, feeding and
14watching birds, music, cars, electronics, and shopping; his
15favorite teams were the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears; he
16loved life and his dog Chewy; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Mario Almanza was preceded in death by his parents
18and his brother, Ricky Almanza; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Mario Almanza is survived by his wife, Tracy; his
20children, April Childs and Ryan Almanza; his siblings, Rosemary

2(Mark) Reyes, Paul "Tony" (Brenda), Rita Almanza, Luis Almanza,
3and Mark Almanza; and his many nieces and nephews; therefore,
4be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Mario Almanza and extend our sincere condolences to his family,
8friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Mario Almanza as an expression of
11our deepest sympathy.
