SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Harry Hayes Defenbaugh, who passed away
4on October 28, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Harry Defenbaugh was born to George and Vernal
6(Hayes) Defenbaugh of rural Streator on January 8, 1951; he
7graduated from Woodland School in 1969; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Harry Defenbaugh was a farmer in the Streator and
9Ancona area for his entire life; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Harry Defenbaugh was a member of Streator Elks
11Lodge #591, where he bowled on the men's league for many years;
12he was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Harry Defenbaugh enjoyed the early "breakfast
14club" shift at the 4 Corners where the locals would meet and
15converse about what was happening in the area; he loved
16farming, fishing, boating, bird watching, his friends, and
17traveling the world and meeting new people; he was an avid
18collector of cars, tractors, model trains, and unusual things;
19he was a thoughtful, caring person; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Harry Defenbaugh is survived by his sister, Mary

1(the late Robert) Poldek; his nephews and nieces, Riley
2(Maureen) Poldek, Kirk (Meghan) Poldek, and Keri (Derek)
3Christie; and his grandnephews and grandnieces, Katie and Tommy
4Poldek and Erin and Clara Christie; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Harry Hayes Defenbaugh and extend our sincere condolences to
8his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Harry Defenbaugh as an expression of
12our deepest sympathy.
