SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Ronald Eugene Nichols of Pleasant Shade,
4Tennessee, formerly of Atlanta, Illinois, who passed away on
5October 1, 2020; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Ronald Nichols was born in Atlanta, Illinois to
7Paul and Oletha (Richard) Nichols on May 7, 1938; he graduated
8from Atlanta Community High School in 1956; he served as a
9military police officer in the United States Army and married
10Janice "Cathy" Wiggers on June 30, 1962; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Ronald Nichols retired from Bridgestone-Firestone
12after 32 years of employment; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Ronald Nichols enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and
14making toys for children; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Ronald Nichols was preceded in death by his
16parents and his sisters, Pat Murphey and Tenna Kiley; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Ronald Nichols is survived by his wife, Cathy; his
18son, Christopher (Vickie) Nichols; his sister, Barbara (Don)
19Baurer; his grandchildren, Jessica (Daniel) Hendrick, Brandon
20(Candice) Nichols, and Kevin Nichols; and his great-grandson,

1Gage Nichols; therefore, be it
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
4Ronald Eugene Nichols and extend our sincere condolences to his
5family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
6further
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8presented to the family of Ronald Nichols as an expression of
9our deepest sympathy.
