SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Robert B. "Bob" Shipp of Moline, who
4passed away on September 29, 2020 at the age of 100; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bob Shipp was born in Buffalo, Kentucky to William
6and Lydia (Davis) Shipp on January 10, 1920; he served in the
7U.S. military during World War II from October of 1940 to
8December of 1945; he married Eleanor F. Sharer in November of
91945; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Bob Shipp worked at the McLaughlin Body Company,
11the East Moline school system, and Black Hawk College and
12retired from the Illini Hospital; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Bob Shipp volunteered for RSVP (The Retired and
14Senior Volunteer Program) of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois
15for many years, accumulating over 11,904 hours in his lifetime;
16he was a lifetime donor to the Mississippi Valley Blood Bank
17with over 10 gallons donated; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Bob Shipp enjoyed going for walks, fishing,
19camping, gardening, and watching the wild life and grass grow;
20and

1    WHEREAS, Bob Shipp was preceded in death by his wife,
2Eleanor; his parents; brothers and sisters; his daughter,
3Frances DeBord; and his son, Robert "Rob" Shipp; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Bob Shipp is survived by his children, Barry (Fay)
5Shipp, Rhonda Penn, and Roy (Kathryn) Shipp; his
6daughter-in-law, Michele Shipp; nine grandchildren; nine
7great-grandchildren; and his sister, JoAnn Jordan; therefore,
8be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Robert B. "Bob" Shipp and extend our sincere condolences to his
12family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Bob Shipp as an expression of our
16deepest sympathy.
