SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Rocklin Dale Akins of Colona, who passed 
4away on August 14, 2020; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Rocklin Akins was born to Burlan and Velma Wilson 
6Akins in Ironton, Missouri on February 5, 1949; he served in 
7the Marines during the Vietnam War; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Rocklin Akins worked at the Rock Island Arsenal as 
9a Weapons System Manager; he retired in 2004; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Rocklin Akins was a member of the American Legion; 
11and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Rocklin Akins enjoyed motorcycles, firearms, 
13playing guitar, and golfing; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Rocklin Akins was preceded in death by his parents 
15and an infant son, Shane; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Rocklin Akins is survived by his sister, Bobby Sue 
17(Larry) Sadler, and his friends, Robert (Dana Hamilton) DeReu 
18and Cyndi (Shawn) Webster; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of

3Rocklin Akins and extend our sincere
condolences to his family, 
4friends, and all who knew and loved
him; and be it further
  
 
5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be

6presented to the family of Rocklin Akins as an expression of

7our deepest sympathy.
