SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Ronald "Ron" John Kalinoski of North
4Chicago, who passed away on July 27, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ron Kalinoski was born to Adam J. Kalinoski Keller
6and Norma M. (Davidson) Bogstad in North Chicago in 1941; in
71964, he joined the U. S. Army and was sent to Vietnam; while
8serving, he sustained lifelong injuries in a land mine
9explosion; he was honorably discharged and was awarded the
10Purple Heart; and
 
11    WHEREAS, When Ron Kalinoski returned to the U.S., he became
12a paid volunteer firefighter with the North Chicago Fire
13Department; he then made his living working at the North
14Chicago Water Plant before moving to the Great Lakes Water
15Plant where he retired after forty plus years of service; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Ron Kalinoski was a man of faith, who enjoyed
17being outdoors, fishing, boating, and spending his free time
18with his family at his camper on Petite Lake in Antioch; his
19love of flying inspired him to earn his private pilot's license
20through the Waukegan National Airport; he had a soft spot for
21his dogs, enjoyed golfing in his earlier years, was known for
22telling silly jokes, and was a social member of the North

1Chicago community; he was also an avid life-long Chicago Cubs
2and Bears fan; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Ron Kalinoski was preceded in death by his wife,
4Jeanne (Boyland) Kalinoski; his brother, Gene Kalinoski; his
5stepmother, Mollie (Geer) Kalinoski Keller; and his parents,
6Adam Kalinoski Keller and Norma Bogstad; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Ron Kalinoski is survived by his three daughters,
8Dawn (Timothy) Rominger, Samantha (Michael) Nestroy, and
9Christina Kalinoski; his brother, Donald (Georgianne)
10Kalinoski; his sisters, Shirley (the Late Neil) Bamford and
11Eileen (the late Charles) Stroup; his sister-in-law, Donna
12Kalinoski; his three grandchildren, Abigail Nestroy and Alex
13and Meghan Rominger; and his several nieces, nephews,
14great-nieces, and great-nephews; therefore, be it
 
15    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
16ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
17Ronald "Ron" John Kalinoski and extend our sincere condolences
18to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
19it further
 
20    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
21presented to the family of Ron Kalinoski as an expression of
22our deepest sympathy.
