2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Martin L. Parisot of Moline, who passed |
4 | | away on July 24, 2020; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Martin Parisot was born in Leland to Louis Parisot |
6 | | and Stella (Zuber) Parisot on April 6, 1921; he graduated from |
7 | | Somonauk Community High School; he served in the U.S. Army Air |
8 | | Corps during World War II, where he was B-17 bomber tail gunner |
9 | | until his plane was shot down over Germany; he was a Prisoner |
10 | | of War in Stalag 17B in Austria for 21 months; he was awarded |
11 | | the European Theater Operations Medal with six bronze stars and |
12 | | discharged as a technical sergeant after three years of |
13 | | service; he earned a bachelor's degree in Mechanical |
14 | | Engineering from the University of Illinois in 1949; he |
15 | | completed additional graduate work at the University of Dayton, |
16 | | Iowa State University, and the University of Iowa; he married |
17 | | Evelyn Maginn in Newton on October 14, 1950; and
|
18 | | WHEREAS, Martin Parisot worked at Wright Patterson Air |
19 | | Force Base in Dayton, Ohio; he then worked at the Rock Island |
20 | | Arsenal, where he retired in 1976 as chief of the Product |
21 | | Engineering Division of Rodman Laboratory; and
|
22 | | WHEREAS, Martin Parisot was an active member of St. Pius X |

1 | | Church in Rock Island and the Western Illinois Chapter of |
2 | | American Ex-Prisoners of War; he was the former president of |
3 | | the Blackhawk Chapter of the Illinois Society of Professional |
4 | | Engineers; he enjoyed restoring farm equipment, woodworking, |
5 | | gardening, photography, pottery, coin collecting, golfing, |
6 | | playing cards, and working on stained glass; and
|
7 | | WHEREAS, Martin Parisot was preceded in death by his |
8 | | parents; his sisters, Heloise Parisot and Rita Parisot; and his |
9 | | brothers, Leo Parisot and Paul (Ethel) Parisot; and
|
10 | | WHEREAS, Martin Parisot is survived by his wife, Evelyn; |
11 | | his children, Marilyn Gairns, David (Anne) Parisot, Carol |
12 | | (Gary) McCormick, Janis (David) Hult, Lisa Gaeta, Brenda |
13 | | (Dennis) Means, and Kevin (Kathleen) Parisot; his |
14 | | grandchildren, Alexandra Parisot, Kristyn (Scott) Bair, Erin |
15 | | (Chad) Schmidt, Erik (Abigail) Hult, Andrea (Tyler) Maas, Kaleb |
16 | | Hult, Eli Gaeta, Owen Means, Zoe Means, Ryan Parisot, Megan |
17 | | Parisot, Shannon Parisot, Brendan Parisot, Colin Parisot, and |
18 | | Aidan Parisot; and his great-grandchildren, Arthur Bair, |
19 | | Martin Bair, Emmett Bair, Sylvia Schmidt, Rosalie Schmidt, and |
20 | | Genevieve Hult; therefore, be it
