SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Kenneth R. "Ken" Zwicke of Beach Park,
4who passed away on December 12, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ken Zwicke was born in Waukegan on June 18, 1944;
6he graduated from Waukegan High School in 1962; he earned a
7bachelor's degree in printing management from Southern
8Illinois University in 1966; he served in the U.S. Coast Guard;
9he married Delores Gaddis in 1973, and they raised three
10children together; after 34 years of marriage, she passed away
11in 2007; he married Linda Person in 2010; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Ken Zwicke worked at the Government Publishing
13Office for over 25 years; he retired in 1999; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Ken Zwicke was an active member of Redeemer
15Lutheran Church in Waukegan, where he served as financial
16secretary among other responsibilities, and a member of the
17Lake County Model A Club; he enjoyed golfing, bicycling,
18bowling, traveling, and working with his hands, whether it was
19home improvement projects or fully restoring a 1929 Ford Model
20A; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Ken Zwicke was preceded in death by his first

1wife, Delores Zwicke; and his stepsons, Kevin and Keith Brody;
2and
 
3    WHEREAS, Ken Zwicke is survived by his wife, Linda; his
4children, Michael (Christine) Zwicke, Daniel (Diane) Zwicke,
5and David Zwicke; his grandchildren, Zachary Zwicke, Isabella
6Zwicke, Katherine Brody, and Alexis Brody; and his brother,
7Robert (Elizabeth) Zwicke; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Kenneth R. "Ken" Zwicke and extend our sincere condolences to
11his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Ken Zwicke as an expression of our
15deepest sympathy.
