SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Robert "Bob" Geral Renick of Waukegan,
4who passed away on April 30, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bob Renick was born to Joseph and Esther (Larsen)
6Renick in Waukegan on April 1, 1930; he attended Waukegan High
7School where he met Lorraine Hoffman; the two married at Holy
8Family Church in North Chicago in 1950; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Bob Renick worked in his father's garage, Renick's
10Auto Service, for most of his life until he retired; even after
11retirement, he couldn't stay away from cars, so he found a job
12working at a parts counter at a local car dealership; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Bob Renick was a member of the City Club of
14Waukegan and the Waukegan Yacht Club; he was the Commodore of
15the Yacht Club in 1970; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Bob Renick lived for being surrounded by loved
17ones; he and his wife greatly enjoyed hosting gatherings at
18their home; he loved working on anything with an engine,
19including small engines, boats, and especially cars; his
20favorite hobby was to cruise Craigslist, Ebay, and Amazon for
21unique car parts; and

1    WHEREAS, Bob Renick was preceded in death by his wife of 69
2years, Lorraine Renick, and his parents; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Bob Renick is survived by his daughter, Marcia
4(Gary) Botsford; his grandchildren, Meghan (Charlie) Dawson,
5Kathryn (Al) Enrique, Jodi (Scott) Megerle, Shawn (Cheryl)
6Botsford, and Robert Botsford; his eight great-grandchildren;
7his sister, Marge (Wayne) Konetzki; his sister-in-law, Maryln
8Zelenz; and his cherished nephew, Tom Zelenz; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Robert "Bob" Geral Renick and extend our sincere condolences to
12his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Bob Renick as an expression of our
16deepest sympathy.
