SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Paul J. Sternitzke of Springfield, who
4passed away on July 4, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Paul Sternitzke was born to Paul T. and Gladys
6(Reichert) Sternitzke on August 12, 1935; he earned his
7bachelor's degree from Southern Illinois University in
8Carbondale and then served in the U.S. Army; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Paul Sternitzke worked as a civil engineer for the
10Department of Transportation, retiring in 1997; he was a member
11of the Capital Chapter of the Society of Professional Engineers
12and was a licensed professional surveyor; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Paul Sternitzke enjoyed playing golf and reading;
14and
 
15    WHEREAS, Paul Sternitzke was preceded in death by his
16parents and his sister, Suzanne Scheibal; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Paul Sternitzke is survived by his wife, Barbara
18Sternitzke; his sons, William (Brenda) and Vincent Sternitzke;
19his grandchildren, Hanna, Holly, and Carter Sternitzke; his two
20nieces; and his four nephews; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
3Paul J. Sternitzke and extend our sincere condolences to his
4family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
5further
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7presented to the family of Paul Sternitzke as an expression of
8our deepest sympathy.
