SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of William "Bill" J. Lockhart of
4Springfield, who passed away on July 6, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bill Lockhart was born to William H. and Nina
6Frances (Crabtree) Lockhart in Winchester on July 13, 1928; he
7graduated from Springfield High School in 1939 and attended
8George Washington University in Washington, D.C.; he married
9Charlotte Elaine Lantz at the Cathedral of the Immaculate
10Conception in Springfield on November 22, 1951; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Bill Lockhart proudly served in the U.S. Navy from
121942 until he retired in 1963; he was the Senior Vice President
13and Trust Financial Planning Officer for Bank of America in
14Delray Beach, Florida until he retired in 1989; he then worked
15as a Private Trust Consulting Officer in mid-Florida, retiring
16in 1993; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Bill Lockhart was a former member of the Sangamo
18Club and numerous clubs in Florida; he served on the board of
19directors for the original Springfield Theater Guild and was a
20past National Commander of the Navy Club of America; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Bill Lockhart was preceded in death by his parents

1and his sister, Pat Hesse; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Bill Lockhart is survived by his wife, Charlotte;
3his numerous nieces and nephews, including Debra (David) Bruce
4and Steve (Becky) Hesse; and his several cousins; therefore, be
5it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that that we mourn the
8passing of William "Bill" J. Lockhart and extend our sincere
9condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
10him; and be it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Bill Lockhart as an expression of
13our deepest sympathy.
