2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Alvino A. Terronez of Silvis, who passed |
4 | | away on June 28, 2020; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Alvino Terronez was born in Silvis to Benito and |
6 | | Felisa Anguiano Terronez on March 1, 1930; he served in the |
7 | | U.S. Army from 1948 to 1952; he married Elisabeth Hahn in |
8 | | Augsburg, Germany on May 29, 1952, and they settled in Silvis; |
9 | | and
|
10 | | WHEREAS, Alvino Terronez retired in 1984 from |
11 | | International Harvester after 30 years; and
|
12 | | WHEREAS, Alvino Terronez was a lifetime member and past |
13 | | commander of VFW Post 8890 in East Moline; he was a devout |
14 | | lifelong member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in |
15 | | Silvis; he enjoyed spending time with his family and watching |
16 | | sports; he was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and Iowa |
17 | | Hawkeyes; and
|
18 | | WHEREAS, Alvino Terronez was preceded in death by his |
19 | | parents; his wife, Elisabeth; his sisters, Ezekiea, Theresa, |
20 | | Gabriela, Jesse, Mary, Antonia, and Angela; his brother, |
21 | | Guadalupe; and his in-laws, Rebecca, Yvonne, Louis, Anthony, |

2 | | WHEREAS, Alvino Terronez is survived by his children, |
3 | | Alvino Terronez Jr., Gunter (Carol) Terronez, Alfred (Sue) |
4 | | Terronez, Rosemarie (Steven) Hernandez, and Raymond (Connie) |
5 | | Terronez; his grandchildren, Jonathan O'Brian, Melissa |
6 | | Terronez, Eric Terronez, Stephanie Hernandez, Brandon |
7 | | Terronez, Justin Terronez, Ashley Terronez-Gooding, Nicholas |
8 | | Hernandez, Lindsey Terronez, Raymond Terronez, and Michael |
9 | | Terronez; 15 great-grandchildren with another on the way in |
10 | | 2020; his brothers, Bennie (Belin) and Joe Terronez; and his |
11 | | sisters, Nellie Munos, Cruz Rivera, and Delores (Richard) |

13 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL |
14 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
15 | | Alvino A. Terronez and extend our sincere condolences to his |
16 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
17 | | further

18 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
19 | | presented to the family of Alvino Terronez as an expression of |
20 | | our deepest sympathy.
