SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Andrew Donald "Andy" Homa of Springfield,
4who passed away on June 1, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Andy Homa was born in Hillsboro to Andrew and Mary
6(Tresso) Homa on October 16, 1933; he graduated from Cathedral
7High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War;
8he earned his master's degree at the University of Illinois at
9Springfield; he married Barbara Hatten on February 4, 1961; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Andy Homa worked as an insurance executive,
11retiring from Franklin Life; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Andy Homa was a member of St. Agnes Church and was
13active in the Knights of Columbus; his greatest joy was seeing
14his family enjoying time together, whether it was the Homa
15family reunion or a small family meal; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Andy Homa was preceded in death by his wife,
17Barbara; his parents; and his sister, Marilyn Toomey; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Andy Homa is survived by his sons, Drew (Mano)
19Homa-Stephens and Steve (Dawn) Homa; his daughters, Beth (Curt
20Koopman) Pallante and Missy (Kevin) Cartwright; his

1grandchildren, Ashley Blevins, Zach Pallante, Caleb
2Cartwright, Lucas Homa, and Josh and Noah Cartwright; his
3sister, Kathy (David Harren) Homa; and his great-grandchild,
4Carter Blevins; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Andrew Donald "Andy" Homa and extend our sincere condolences to
8his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Andy Homa as an expression of our
12deepest sympathy.
