SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Jerry D. Lemmon II of Springfield, who
4passed away on May 5, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jerry Lemmon was born to Jerry D. Lemmon Sr. and
6Anne (Mathias) Lemmon in Springfield on February 23, 1968; he
7attended Christ the King Grade School and Griffin High School
8and graduated from Indiana University, where he was a member of
9the Sigma Chi Fraternity; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Jerry Lemmon was one of the seven original
11Broker/Partner/Owners of The Real Estate Group and had a very
12successful career in real estate; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Jerry Lemmon was a member of the Island Bay Yacht
14Club, Aqua Club, and Sigma Chi Fraternity; he was a Life Member
15of Christ the King Parish; he was an active contributor and
16advocate for the First Step Women's Crisis Center and served as
17auctioneer for many charity events in the Springfield area; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Jerry Lemmon enjoyed traveling to tropical
19locations to visit his loving sister and her fiancé; he was
20everyone's weatherman, keeping friends and loved ones updated
21on upcoming storms; his favorite pastimes were attending Sacred

1Heart-Griffin football games as well as boating, golfing,
2fishing, and being near the ocean; he was a compassionate man
3with a heart of gold, who would help anyone at any time; he
4will be especially remembered for his sense of humor; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jerry Lemmon was preceded in death by his father
6and his grandparents; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Jerry Lemmon is survived by his beloved mother,
8Anne; his sister, Lisa Lemmon (fiancé Jason Godin); his
9half-brother, Richard Tuxhorn, his special friends Brenda and
10Tate (Scarbrough) Weddigen, Jim, and Foxer; and his several
11aunts, uncles, and cousins; therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
14Jerry D. Lemmon II and extend our sincere condolences to his
15family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
16further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Jerry Lemmon as an expression of our
19deepest sympathy.
