SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Nanette "Nan" Zalar O'Hara of Joliet, who
4passed away on June 9, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Nanette O'Hara was born to Enid (Bruning)
6Blunck-Zalar and Dr. Joseph A. Zalar in 1952; she attended St.
7Paul the Apostle School and Joliet West High School; she then
8graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago; later in
9her life at the age of 50, she returned to college and earned a
10master's degree in Education and a second master's degree in
11Library and Information Science; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Nanette O'Hara worked as a real estate appraiser;
13in 1978, she received the "SRA" Senior Residential Appraiser
14designation from the Society of Real Estate Appraisers, now a
15part of the Appraisal Institute; she was the second woman "SRA"
16in the Chicago chapter; after receiving her master's degrees,
17she became a teacher at Joliet Central High School District
18204; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Nanette O'Hara took great joy in raising her
20children and was deeply proud of the adults they became; she
21enjoyed golfing; and

1    WHEREAS, Nanette O'Hara was preceded in death by her
2parents and her brother, Robert C. "Sandy" (Patricia) Blunck;
3and
 
4    WHEREAS, Nanette O'Hara is survived by her husband, Pat
5O'Hara; her children, Patrick A. O'Hara DMD, and Ryan M.
6O'Hara; her siblings, Dr. Joseph A. (Katheryn) Zalar, Charles
7R. (Annette) Zalar, and Enid V. (Michael) Schroeder; her nieces
8and nephews; her sisters-in-law, Margaret O'Hara, Eileen (late
9William) O'Hara Walker, and Kathleen O'Hara; and her special
10friend, Ann Hintze; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13Nanette "Nan" Zalar O'Hara and extend our sincere condolences
14to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be
15it further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Nanette O'Hara as an expression of
18our deepest sympathy.
