SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Harold J. Schaab of Rock Island, who
4passed away on May 19, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Harold Schaab was born in Rock Island to George H.
6and Meta (Arp) Schaab on May 8, 1927; he served in the U.S.
7Navy during WWII; he married Mary K. Cook in Rock Island on
8February 5, 1949, and she preceded him in death on May 2, 2018;
9and
 
10    WHEREAS, Harold Schaab worked as a City of Rock Island
11police officer for 21 years, retiring as a lieutenant; he
12worked at John Deere Davenport Works as a security guard for an
13additional 11 years; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Harold Schaab was a proud member of the Illinois
15Police Association; he enjoyed woodworking, family trips, and
16traveling all over the U.S.; he was a master marksman who
17enjoyed spending time on the shooting range and catching up
18with his fellow officers; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Harold Schaab was preceded in death by his
20parents; his wife, Mary; his son, Mark H. Schaab; and his
21brothers, George Schaab and Johnnie Schaab; and

1    WHEREAS, Harold Schaab is survived by his children, Marsha
2(Russell) Marcellus, Michael J. (Pebbles) Schaab, and Marla J.
3(Larry) Rudsell; his grandchildren, Lindsay (Teddy) Storm,
4Katie (Bryan) Kimbrell, Morgan Stoever, Joshua Schaab,
5Jennifer (Chris) Allison, Katie Zimmerman, and JZ Zimmerman;
6his great-grandchildren, Hayley, Myley, Dusty, Roman, Mila,
7and Cooper; and his many extended family members and friends;
8therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Harold J. Schaab and extend our sincere condolences to his
12family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Harold Schaab as an expression of
16our deepest sympathy.
