2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Roberto "Bob" Antu of Moline, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on May 15, 2020; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Bob Antu was born in Eagle Pass, Texas to Manuel | ||||||
6 | G. Antu and Maria del Refugio Chavez on February 6, 1944; he | ||||||
7 | served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War; he married | ||||||
8 | Donna Mead (Antu); he later married Lois "Elaine" (Pierce) | ||||||
9 | Morgan in Moline on May 3, 2003; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Bob Antu previously worked at IH Farmall in Rock | ||||||
11 | Island until 1985 and the former Montgomery Elevator Co.; he | ||||||
12 | retired from the George Evans Corporation in Moline in 2011; | ||||||
13 | and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Bob Antu was a member of VFW Velie Post 2153 in | ||||||
15 | Moline, American Legion Post 246 in Moline, and several bowling | ||||||
16 | leagues; he enjoyed playing baseball, boxing, camping, and | ||||||
17 | fishing; he was a Chicago Cubs fan; and
| ||||||
18 | WHEREAS, Bob Antu was preceded in death by his | ||||||
19 | great-grandson, Adonis, and his sisters, Rosa Elva Duran, | ||||||
20 | Melisa Villanueva, and Maria Del Consuelo Medina; and

1 | WHEREAS, Bob Antu is survived by his wife, Elaine; his | ||||||
2 | children, Shantell (Leonard Smith Jr.) Beechum, Crystal Antu, | ||||||
3 | and Tiffany Antu; his grandchildren, Ashley, Nathan, Roman, | ||||||
4 | Tavian, Treye, Blake, Shameer, Hunter, and Harper; his | ||||||
5 | great-grandchildren, Amari, Avianna, Armani, Melanie, | ||||||
6 | Demarrius, Blake Jr., Julian, and Andreas; his mother, Maria | ||||||
7 | Antu; his sisters, Olga (Miguel) Barragan, and Maricela (Ralph) | ||||||
8 | Arias; and his brothers, Oscar Antu and Jesus Antu; therefore, | ||||||
9 | be it

10 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | ||||||
11 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
12 | Roberto "Bob" Antu and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
13 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
