SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Violet L. Chisholm of Oak Park, who
4passed away on October 17, 2019 at the age of 94; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Violet Chisholm was born in Chicago to Aldo and
6Maria Valiani on January 3, 1925; she graduated from Pickard
7Elementary and Harrison High School in Chicago; she attended
8St. Francis College in Joliet; she married John Adrian Chisholm
9on August 27, 1949, and he preceded her in death in 1976; they
10had five children; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Following the loss of her husband, Violet Chisholm
12began to work outside the home; she worked for Loyola
13University Medical Center in Maywood until her retirement; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Violet Chisholm was deeply committed to her faith;
15she was a member of St. Edmund Parish and the former president
16of the Italian Catholic Federation; she was passionate about
17her family; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Violet Chisholm was preceded in death by her
19parents; her husband; and her son, Eric Milton Chisholm; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Violet Chisholm is survived by her children,

1Timothy Chisholm, Mary Cay (Ken Kirk) Chisholm, Christopher
2Chisholm, and Andrea (Tim Mooney) Andrade; her five
3grandchildren; her ten great-grandchildren; and her siblings,
4Dolores Bobruk and Aldo (Dorine) Valiani; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Violet L. Chisholm and extend our sincere condolences to her
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Violet Chisholm as an expression of
12our deepest sympathy.
