SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Bernard J. "Bernie" Hickey of Edelstein,
4who passed away on March 10, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bernie Hickey was born to John and Helen
6(Fuertges) Hickey on January 6, 1942; he graduated from
7Bradford High School and St. Ambrose College; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Bernie Hickey was employed at Camp Grove State
9Bank; he retired in 1990 as executive vice president; he
10continued to serve as the bank's chairman of the board of
11directors; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Bernie Hickey was an active and involved member of
13the Peoria Chapter of the ACLU; he was also a member of the
14Universalist Unitarian Church in Peoria; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Bernie Hickey was preceded in death by his parents
16and his brother, Philip; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Bernie Hickey is survived by his siblings, Denny
18(Val), Jim (Peg), Rosemary (Hank) Welch, and Kathy (Dan)
19Czarniewski; his sister-in-law, Mary Hickey; and his many
20nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
3Bernard J. "Bernie" Hickey and extend our sincere condolences
4to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
5it further
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7presented to the family of Bernie Hickey as an expression of
8our deepest sympathy.
