|
2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Earl Bryant Anderson of Bloomington, who |
4 | | passed away on April 12, 2020; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Earl Anderson was born in Bloomington to Benjamin |
6 | | Franklyn and Jessie Pearl Bryant Anderson on April 1, 1934; he |
7 | | graduated from Decatur High School and attended Millikin |
8 | | University in Decatur; he served in the U.S. Marine Corps from |
9 | | 1956 to 1962; and
|
10 | | WHEREAS, After his military service, Earl Anderson worked |
11 | | at Slavens Collection Agency in Bloomington; he eventually |
12 | | acquired the agency and renamed it the Anderson Financial |
13 | | Network Inc., AFNI today, and served as president from 1975 to |
14 | | 1995; he was an owner of Prairie Signs Inc.; he was a partner |
15 | | in an insurance firm (Insurance Producer) and 462 Partners in |
16 | | Decatur; he was the founder and owner of the Credit Bureau of |
17 | | Woodford County, McLean County License & Title, the Property |
18 | | Owners and Managers Association (POMA), The American |
19 | | Distributing Company, the Crossroads Auction Company, the |
20 | | Anderson Advantage Holding Company, and the Anderson Triad |
21 | | Company; and
|
22 | | WHEREAS, Earl Anderson served as president of the Illinois |

1 | | Collectors Association and on the boards of a number of |
2 | | organizations, including the Illinois Sign Association, the |
3 | | Credit Bureau of Bloomington, the Bloomington-Normal Transit |
4 | | Authority, the Bloomington Unlimited, and the Minonk Planning |
5 | | Commission; he also served as president of the Tri-County |
6 | | Mayors' Association while serving as the mayor of Minonk from |
7 | | 1997 to 2001; along the way, he also obtained his private |
8 | | pilot's license; and
|
9 | | WHEREAS, Earl Anderson committed to his faith in 1973; he |
10 | | enjoyed sharing his faith with others, offering counsel, and |
11 | | listening to friends in need; he also enjoyed telling stories |
12 | | and jokes; he was known for making an impression on everyone he |
13 | | met; and
|
14 | | WHEREAS, Earl Anderson was preceded in death by his |
15 | | parents; his sister, Jennie Anderson; his son, Curt Anderson; |
16 | | and his grandson, Curt Mocilan; and
|
17 | | WHEREAS, Earl Anderson is survived by his wife of more than |
18 | | 60 years, Suzanne Draper Anderson; his daughters, Cassandra |
19 | | Anderson and Candace (Bob) Furgeson; his granddaughter, Sarah |
20 | | (Jeff) Hobbs; his granddaughter-in-law, Erica Mocilan; his |
21 | | great-grandchildren, Reagan Hobbs, Owen Hobbs, Rylan Mocilan, |
22 | | Abel Mocilan, and Emma Collier; and his beloved nieces and |
23 | | nephews; therefore, be it

1 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL |
2 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
3 | | Earl Bryant Anderson and extend our sincere condolences to his |
4 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
5 | | further
|
6 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
7 | | presented to the family of Earl Anderson as an expression of |
8 | | our deepest sympathy.
