SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Clarence "Leroy" Kelley of Colona, who
4passed away on March 9, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Leroy Kelley was born in Geneseo to Clarence W.
6and Pearl V. Stephenson Kelley on January 10, 1943; he served
7in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era; he married Susan C.
8"Sue" Miller in Aledo on August 3, 1964; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Leroy Kelley served as a police officer in Green
10Rock; he then served as a public works director in Green Rock
11for over 20 years; he retired in 1999; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Leroy Kelley enjoyed hanging out in his garage,
13building and remodeling homes for family and friends, boating,
14being on the Rock River, being at "The Camp" with his family
15and friends, shooting at the family range, and listening to ZZ
16Top and Styx; he especially loved spending time with his
17children, his grandchildren, and all of his four-legged
18friends; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Leroy Kelley was preceded in death by his parents;
20his brothers, John and Steve Kelley; and his great friend, Mike
21Hergert; and

1    WHEREAS, Leroy Kelley is survived by his wife of 56 years,
2Sue; his children, Carol (JC) Griffin, James Kelley, Crystal
3(Mark) Kelley Erickson, and Brandy Kelley; his grandchildren,
4Nichole, Stormi, Dakota, Landon, Torie, Dallas, and Brandyn;
5his seven great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Charlie
6Kelley, Marge VanKlavern, Tom Kelley, and Marlene Ong;
7therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Clarence "Leroy" Kelley and extend our sincere condolences to
11his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Leroy Kelley as an expression of our
15deepest sympathy.
