SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Patrick Aloysius Duffy of Erie, who
4passed away on May 5, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Patrick Duffy was born to Aloysius J. and Patricia
6(Cavanaugh) Duffy in Waterloo, Iowa on June 24, 1950; he
7graduated from Wapsie Valley High School in 1968 and then
8served in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam; he married Sherry Hamm
9at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Morrison on August 4, 1973;
10and
 
11    WHEREAS, Patrick Duffy worked in marketing for Deere & Co.
12for 35 and a half years, which allowed him to see much of the
13world; he also served on the Erie Fire Department for 20 years;
14and
 
15    WHEREAS, Patrick Duffy was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic
16Church in Erie and of the Knights of Columbus; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Patrick Duffy had a wonderful sense of humor,
18never met a stranger, was an unselfish man, and loved doting on
19his wife; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Patrick Duffy was preceded in death by by his

1parents; his brothers, Dennis and Galen Duffy; and his sister,
2Sherry Weber; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Patrick Duffy is survived by his wife; his
4daughters, Angela (Ryan) Quinlan and Shannon (Derek) Weber; his
5grandchildren, Olivia, Deacon, and Brooks Weber and Riordan and
6Grayson Quinlan; his sisters, Colleen (Darold) Matthias and
7Kathy Volker; and his many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Patrick Aloysius Duffy and extend our sincere condolences to
11his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Patrick as an expression of our
15deepest sympathy.
