SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Edward E. "Ed" Link of Waukegan, who
4passed away on February 5, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ed Link was born to Elmer and Pauline Link on
6December 14, 1942; he graduated from North Chicago High School
7and Southern Illinois University; he served two years in the
8U.S. Army; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Ed Link spent his career as a marketing researcher
10with A.C. Nielsen; he also authored two books about Waukegan
11history, titled Images of America: Waukegan, Illinois and
12Waukegan: A History; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Ed Link was an active participant in the Genesee
14Theatre restoration project and a beloved member of the
15Waukegan Historical Society; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Ed Link was known for his love of movies,
17especially B Westerns, and his extensive collection of Western
18movies, books, and memorabilia; he was also a lifelong fan of
19the Chicago White Sox, leaving behind an amazing collection of
20baseball cards and classic photo books; and

1    WHEREAS, Ed Link is survived by his partner, Barbara; his
2siblings, John (Diane), Joann (Harold), and Terry (Susan); his
3son, Jay; his grandchildren, Jon, Laura, Joey, June, and Rey;
4and his many nieces and nephews, Suzann, Jeff, David, Mary,
5Tracee, Kari, Lisa, and Kelly; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Edward E. "Ed" Link and extend our sincere condolences to his
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Ed Link as an expression of our
13deepest sympathy.
