2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Edward E. "Ed" Link of Waukegan, who |
4 | | passed away on February 5, 2020; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Ed Link was born to Elmer and Pauline Link on |
6 | | December 14, 1942; he graduated from North Chicago High School |
7 | | and Southern Illinois University; he served two years in the |
8 | | U.S. Army; and
|
9 | | WHEREAS, Ed Link spent his career as a marketing researcher |
10 | | with A.C. Nielsen; he also authored two books about Waukegan |
11 | | history, titled Images of America: Waukegan, Illinois and |
12 | | Waukegan: A History; and
|
13 | | WHEREAS, Ed Link was an active participant in the Genesee |
14 | | Theatre restoration project and a beloved member of the |
15 | | Waukegan Historical Society; and
|
16 | | WHEREAS, Ed Link was known for his love of movies, |
17 | | especially B Westerns, and his extensive collection of Western |
18 | | movies, books, and memorabilia; he was also a lifelong fan of |
19 | | the Chicago White Sox, leaving behind an amazing collection of |
20 | | baseball cards and classic photo books; and
