SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Paul Leon Robinson of Carterville, who
4passed away on January 12, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Paul Leon Robinson was born in Bush to Paul J. and
6Hazel (Newton) Robinson on December 15, 1938; he married Bertha
7O'Brien at the Bush Pentecostal Church on November 29, 1958; he
8served in the U.S. Army and was awarded for his service as a
9truck mechanic and ambulance driver; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Paul Leon Robinson worked in healthcare
11administration for several years; he served as Administrator at
12Marion Memorial, Belleville Memorial, Logan Primary, and
13DayStar Care Center, among others; he worked with many small
14businesses and doctors' offices throughout the area; for
15several years, he also worked with American Church Builders to
16build churches across the country alongside his brother, Butch;
17and
 
18    WHEREAS, Paul Leon Robinson was deeply committed to his
19faith and was a devoted member of Marion First Apostolic Church
20for more than 40 years; he had most recently served as the
21church's secretary and treasurer; he was also known as a
22multi-talented craftsman who enjoyed working with his hands,

1whether building and overseeing many personal construction
2projects and house remodels or tinkering in his barn; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Paul Leon Robinson was preceded in death by his
4parents; his sister, LaDonna Clark; and his brother-in-law,
5David Clark; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Paul Leon Robinson is survived by his loving wife
7of 61 years, Bertha Robinson; his son, PJ (Donna) Robinson; his
8grandsons, Corley Paul James, Dallon Jay, and Brandt Hampton
9Robinson; his brother, Raymond "Butch" Eugene (Connie J.)
10Robinson; and his nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends;
11therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
14Paul Leon Robinson and extend our sincere condolences to his
15family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
16further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Paul Leon Robinson as an expression
19of our deepest sympathy.
