SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Leo F. Williams of Coal Valley, who
4passed away on December 22, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Leo Williams was born in Sextonville, Wisconsin to
6Ray and Grace (Fry) Williams on March 4, 1931; he served in the
7U.S. Navy for four years and married Edith Beard in Buena
8Vista, Virginia on May 21, 1953; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Leo Williams worked at the Federal Aviation
10Administration for over nine years before going to work at the
11International Harvester Farmall Plant in Rock Island, where he
12worked for over 17 years as an induction heat treat engineer;
13he ended his career after over seven years at the Rock Island
14Arsenal as an electronic technician; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Leo Williams was a member of Boy Scout Troop #118,
16the Rock Island County Civil Defense, and the Civil Air Patrol;
17he was also an amateur radio operator for much of his life and
18obtained his pilot's license in 1959; he enjoyed
19radio-controlled model boats and spending time with his family;
20and
 
21    WHEREAS, Leo Williams was preceded in death by his wife,

1Edith; infant brother; and his grandson, Matthew Williams; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Leo Williams is survived by his children, Fred
3(Aletha) Williams, Patricia (Ronald) Jones, Harry (Tomah)
4Williams, Linda (Darryl) Rochford, and Robert (Shelley)
5Williams; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and his
6sister, Louise Noble; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Leo F. Williams and extend our sincere condolences to his
10family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Leo Williams as an expression of our
14deepest sympathy.
