SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of LeRoy "Roy" Schultz of Silvis, who passed
4away on December 18, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Roy Schultz was born in Moline to Harry and
6Lunette Schulte Schultz on December 19, 1924; he served in the
7U.S. Army Air Corps for three years during World War II, 16 of
8those months in the South Pacific; after the war, he served in
9the Air Force Reserve for an additional three years; he married
10Betty J. Hart at St. Anne Catholic Church in East Moline on
11November 15, 1947; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Roy Schultz retired from the Electronic Data
13Systems Corporation in 1989; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Roy Schultz was a member of American Legion Post
15227 in East Moline, where he was active with the Honor Guard;
16he was also a life member of East Moline Veterans of Foreign
17Wars Post 256; he volunteered at Illini Hospital for many
18years; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Roy Schultz was preceded in death by his parents;
20his infant daughter, Linda; and his son, Dennis Schultz; and

1    WHEREAS, Roy Schultz is survived by his wife of 72 years,
2Betty; his daughter, Gail (Dan) Turf; his son, Bruce (Connie)
3Schultz; his daughter-in-law, Denise Schultz; eight
4grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Fred
5(Shirley) Schultz, Russ (Gayle) Schultz, and Laura (Tom)
6Visconi; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9LeRoy "Roy" Schultz and extend our sincere condolences to his
10family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Roy Schultz as an expression of our
14deepest sympathy.
